M.D. Rubió ("Maloles") was born in Barcelona on the 3rd of June 1953. She lives and works in Sitges (Barcelona). She’s a drawing teacher and she was granted by the Rodríguez Acosta Foundation, in Granada, as the best landscape painter of her course.

Directly after having finished her Baccalaureate, she joined the Academy directed by the artists R. Sanvisens and T. Llacer, who clearly influenced the work of her first artistic period.

The following year she registered at The Higher School of Fine Arts “Sant Jordi”, where she continued to learn the basical concepts of composition and the pictorial techniques from artists as A. Miravalls, J. Moncada, F. Ribera, J. Muxart, J. Puigdengolas and F. Crespo.

She exhibited her work for the first time in the Editora Nacional Gallery, in April 1973, showing a special interest in the Impressionism and in Fauvism.

In May 1975, she presented her work in the Municipal Museum of Saint Paul de Vence, France. In the decade of the ’90th, she realized remarkable works for the City Council of Mahón and for the Military Museum of Madrid.

She was a member of the organizing comittee of The First Nacional Fair of Drawing, in Barcelona, 1978.

She has exhibited her work worldwide including Spain, France, and the United States.
